Microsoft’s new patent for displaying content only to the user
Microsoft has registered a technology patent that allows the user to read a content by himself and other people will not be able to see the said content on his screen.
According to PC Gamer, if a user is working on an important document in a crowded environment and does not want other people to see his activities, he can use a privacy screen on the screen or an application that shows the screen to others. It makes it darker and only the user can see its content.
In this regard, Microsoft has registered a patent for a system that seems to be more efficient than both of these methods because it causes the rest of the content to be viewed directly on the screen, except for the part of the document that the user is directly looking at. Fully encrypted and unreadable.
This patent does not mention specific details about the technology’s performance. Instead, an overview of the nature of the technology is provided, showing that Microsoft has proposed a system that encrypts documents under user review in such a way that their content is secure but the overall structure of the text remains unchanged.
The interesting thing is that in this system, an algorithm is used that, using a suitable webcam or other device that can track the movements of the person’s eyes, determines exactly where the person’s eyes are focused, and uses this information to create a ” Uses alpha compound mask. This “Alpha Blend Mask” actually acts like a hole in the encrypted document and only allows the user to observe the content underneath.
When the person’s eyes move, this hole also moves with it so that the user does not suddenly encounter an unintelligible line. Of course, in this system, statistical methods can be used to predict which direction the eye movements are, and in this way, the delay between the eye movement and the tracking movement of this body part and the mask is also reduced. But any other person who looks at the document cannot understand its contents.
