Iran’s role in the development of technology and innovation of “BRICS” member countries

In the sixth meeting of the Research Infrastructures and Scientific Macro Plans Working Group of the BRICS Science and Technology Commission, the ground was provided for the exchange of technological and innovative capacities of Iran and the member countries.

According to the vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy, Mirabadi, the head of the international scientific and technological cooperation development organization, attended the sixth meeting of the research infrastructure and scientific macro projects of the BRICS science and technology commission.

Following the membership of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the BRICS organization at the beginning of 2024 and the need for the country to play an active role in this international organization, the vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy, with regard to national missions and strategies and in order to present an image of scientific capacities, The country’s technology and innovation in the international arena and networking and global interactions has had an active presence in the events, programs and specialized working groups of this organization.

The 6th meeting of the Research Infrastructures and Scientific Macroplans Working Group of the BRICS Science and Technology Commission is being held in Russia for four days from July 1.

In this international meeting, the experiences of our country in creating and developing the ecosystem of technology and innovation, capacities and infrastructures in the field of science, technology and innovation, and the capability of knowledge-based companies in the implementation and management of national technology projects were presented to other participants.

BRICS is the name of a group of countries led by the world’s emerging economic powers, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. From the beginning of 2024, the Islamic Republic of Iran along with Argentina, Ethiopia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt became permanent members of BRICS.
