America and Russia separated in space

Russia’s Raskamos has decided to build a 4-module core in Earth orbit as its new space station by 2030.

According to Reuters, the head of the Russian Space Agency, Yuri Borisov, along with the managers of 19 companies that cooperate in the construction of the new station, signed the timetable for its construction.

The agency also confirmed its plans to launch a science and energy module in 2027 and announced that 3 more modules will be added by 2030 and 2 more between 2031 and 2033. So far, Russia has been a partner in the International Space Station with the United States and other countries.

In 2022, while the International Space Station was nearing the end of its operational life, Russia also announced its plans to withdraw from this project and build its own space station. The country initially announced that it would abandon the International Space Station project in 2024, but last year it announced to its partners that it would continue cooperation until 2028.

Raskamos announced about his plans for the construction of the Russian space station, in addition to scheduling the design and construction of the modules, Borisov has also approved the flight test of the new generation manned space capsule and the construction of rockets and infrastructure on the ground.
