Air purification for subway passengers
An air purifier has been invented for people who use the subway to clean the air around their faces.
According to Interesting Engineering, the air quality in underground trains may not be very suitable. But a Loughborough University graduate has devised a solution for tube riders.
This innovation is actually a device that removes harmful particles in the environment and creates a clean bubble of breathable air around the person’s face. Mia Peterson Cox has invented a new product called Aerate, which is a wearable air purification gadget designed for subway passengers.
The mentioned gadget is equipped with a fan designed to create a breathable air bubble around the user’s face. The mentioned fans have SBPP filters that absorb air inside and absorb small particles up to 2.5 micrometers in size.
In the next step, the fans rotate and clean the air with 5500 revolutions per minute. In this way, a permanent protection against dangerous particles is created.
In this way, Cox says: I deliberately did not want to invent a product only for users to benefit from it. By continuously filtering iron particles and other pollutants, the gadget will help create a cleaner environment for all passengers traveling in subways and underground trains.
The mentioned wearable gadget has a special app that is connected to the particle sensor in the device. This app specifically reminds users when to change filters. Of course, the life of each filter is 40 hours of use.
